Our health concerns do not come out of nowhere, they develop over time. Symptoms only arise when we reach a certain threshold. Prior to this threshold, our body has the capability to manage, fix and then heal from the insult, sadly, over this point we get symptoms or even a diagnosable disease. Everyone has an individual set point in their threshold, which is usually influenced by epigenetics, birth microbiome development, toxicity in our environment, malfunctioning immune system, or it might be many of these ‘small’ issues added together. The most common imbalances and symptoms are predominantly related to hormones and gut.
Chronic health problems are keeping women as well as men from feeling vibrant, energetic, and balanced in every stage of their life. The statistics are, indeed, daunting.
%
Stress, Overwhelm, Poor Sleep
According to a National Study, 80% of the primary care physicain visits are related to psychological stress. The first line treatment in conventional medicine is the prescription of anti-depressants which lead to other physical symptoms (sleep problems).
%
Autoimmune Disease
Autoimmune diseases are one of the most common disorders people suffer from and it is continuously increasing by around 5% every 5 year. At least 78% of autoimmune disease sufferers are women with leading cause of rheumatoid arthitis and Hasimoto’s thyroiditis.
%
Obesity
In Europe, 53% of the adults (aged 18 and over) are considered as overweight. By 2030, it is predicted to increase up to 60%. Obersity is the leading cause of heart disease and type 2 diabetes in the world.
%
Overmedication
Overmedication is very common nowadays, predominantly in the US. We have been prescribed tremendous amount of antibiotics, anti-depressants, NSAIDs and blood pressure drugs. An average American adult takes about 10 pills per day.

Hormone Health
I have spent the last few years reflecting, listening, researching and reading on what women has been struggling with. All of the symptoms and concerns were related to one specific topic – Hormone Health.
Happy hormones are key to vibrant health. They are responsible for interaction and communication between organs. They control our mood, productivity, energy production, digestion, body temperature, fertility, immune system, defense against infections and the list goes on. There is no process which does not involve the presence of a certain hormone.
Any imbalances in our body can be corrected by functional medicine. Finding the root cause of any pathologies has been proven to be the long-term solution for a healthy version of yourself. Hormone health can be influenced by many factors such as the food we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink and, of course, the lifestyle we live. Stress is a key trigger in all of the pathologies in hormone health, but not the only one.
It is time we learn about the root cause of diseases, and take back your health.
Be part of the solution.

Gut health & Microbiome
The gut microbiome is a microbial community impacts the brain, immune system, hormone health, metabolism and gut motility. All of these systems are interconnected through the gut microbiome. The microbiome is passed from mother to newborns, at first, through delivery. We are actually born without a gut microbiome, and we have to assemble one at every generation. At early life, our microbiome is influenced by the birth method (caesarean or natural), breastfeeding (or milk formula), early use of antibiotics, and then later our diet. All of these will have an impact on your gut microbiome diversity in adulthood.
Gut problems almost always the first to show – gas, bloating, leaky gut, SIBO tc. There is an overwhelming evidence of the interrelationship between gut dysbiosis and skin conditions because the gut and the skin shares common features. Did you know that 70% of our immune system is housed in the gut? You can imagine that an unhealthy gut could weaken your immune system and give space to pathogenic colonies and infections. Taking good care of your gut is crucial for reversing any symptoms or diseases in the whole body. This is where I would focus most at the beginning of the healing journey.
All disease begins in the gut.

Things Contributed To Gut Dysbiosis
Our gut microbiome changes over time as we age. At first, we do not have a specific gut microbiome when we are in our mothers womb, it is developed through delivery. Then the gut micrbiome diversity increases with the introduction of food. Information needed to be gathered:
- Delivery mode – natural birth or caesarean birth
- Hospital birth or home birth
- Early antibiotic use
- Breafeeding or milk formula
- Environmental factors – city life or countryside life
- Diet and early food sensitivities
Gut Dysbiosis & Symptoms
- Bloating
- Gas
- Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth
- Celiac disease
- Loose stool
- Constipation
- Pain in stomach
- Acid reflux
- Low stomach acid
- Gut – skin connection (eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, acne)
- Inflammation
Test, Don't Guess
To make an accurate diagnosis, you need to do tests. I recommend to first have a GI stool test – it shows the profile of your gut microbiome and possible imbalances. It also gives a clear picture about inflammation and autoimmune disease triggering microbes.
Food research
Throughout my career in the food industry, my aim was to understand the way food companies bring a new product to life and what decisions have to be made along the way. When it comes to food choices, I emphasize that the more unprocessed a product is, the better it will be for your health. We should always aim for fresh produce! Period. But, since we are human and pleasure seeking is part of our life, sometimes we desire foods that are processed and packaged.
Even, in the processed food section, you can find reasonable and healthy options made by nutrient dense ingredients. This means that we are putting our health in the hands of the food industry. Now more than ever, consumers are more eager to find foods that are beneficial for health as well as environmental-friendly. The responsibility of the food companies is to listen to these wishes and bring them to life.
Are you looking for ways to improve your product which is better for the planet? Let me help you along your journey. I know it is a challenging, but a rewarding path. Interested in hiring me for your research needs and product development? Contact me directly.

Separating marketing from science.
Every day, we are bombarded with commercials and advertisements that alert us to the latest nutrition and food findings that may help us to live longer and healthier. Engaging nutrtion science into marketing objectives of food companies can cause more harm and confusion than we think. Food giants allocate funds to research centers, practicioners and institutions, solely to promote sales and profit, ‘sometimes’ against the interest of public health. Manipulating food and nutrition research does not count as science. Things to consider when we read about new findings:

Who Funded The Research?
It is important to know if the nutrtion or food research was funded by a company who has interest in the research topic. If so, we can most probably expect a biased and manipulated result.
Is There A Conflict Of Interest?
Conflict of interest occurs when someone places his self-serving interest above others in multiple activities. Great example is the case of Coca Cola – promoting its sugary drink by focusing on excercise as calorie neutralizer.
Are All Financial Ties Disclosed?
Sometimes it is difficult to recognize how much influence companies have on us in our private and professional life. Disclosing all ties can be difficult, because money is not its only form.
Does It Favor The Sponsor's Interest?
More than 60% of the food studies concluded a favorable result to the sponsor company. They want research what they can influence and pay for.
